Back to the console room

Sources & credits

The Nintendo Room is an independent console collection inspired by The 80s Computer Room. Nintendo and the game titles belong to their respective owners. This project is unaffiliated with Nintendo.

Archived game editions

The records below identify the exact Archive.org item, filename, region, and SHA-256 digest for each bundled cartridge. Archive availability does not grant redistribution rights. The site is hosted on Cloudflare.

Personal cartridge imports stay in browser storage on your device. Files are validated and identified by their SHA-256 digest before play. Game saves are separated by title and cartridge digest.

Emulator

Emulation uses EmulatorJS 4.2.3, loaded from its official versioned CDN. EmulatorJS is distributed under GPL-3.0; its underlying emulation cores carry their own licenses. Core source and notices are available through the upstream project and supported-system documentation.

The room interface, catalog, storage, and controller adapter are separate original site code. No console BIOS is bundled. An internet connection is needed to load the emulator. Interface fonts are locally hosted DM Sans and Barlow Condensed, supplied under their SIL Open Font Licenses (included in the fonts directory).

Saves and verification

The room saves a place every 20 seconds during play and before changing games. Save place captures immediately. Download save keeps a separate copy; import accepts backups from the same cartridge. Browser storage is local to this site, browser, and device.

All 65 bundled cartridges were started beyond their title screens, with visually reviewed checkpoints listed above. Saved-place restore is disabled for five SNES editions after unreliable restoration was observed; those games start fresh and existing saves are retained. These checks are not complete playthroughs. Some games require two controllers, special accessories, or game-specific setup. Physical controllers, audible sound, and every level of every game have not been verified.
